【摘要】:ThissectionofBS5268givesrecommendationsforthedesign,testing,fabricationanderectionoftimberframewallsforbuildingsotherthandwellingsnotexceedingfourstoreysinheightandwherethefollowingconditionsapply.a)Themaximumoverallheightofanybuildingis15m.b)Themaximumpanelheightinasinglestoreybuildingis6.2m.c)Themaximumpanelheightinbuildingsofmorethanonestoreyis4.8m.ThissectionofBS5268-6givesrecommendationsfortimberframewalls,withstudscontinuousinlengththroughoutthepanelheight,notexceeding610mmcentretocentreandoneorbothfacesofthestudsbeingpartlyorwhollyconnectedtosheathingorlining.ThedesigninformationcontainedinthissectionofBS5268isprincipallyintendedtocoverstoreyheightpanelconstruction.Muchoftheinformationisalsorelevanttootherformsofpanelconstruction,forexample,wherestudsarecontinuousthroughtwoormorestoreys.Allstructuralmaterialsareassumedtobesubjectonlytoserviceclasses1and2,asdefinedinBS5268-2:1996.Thedesigninformationontherackingperformanceoftallwallpanels(over2.7minheight),containedinthissectionofBS5268-6,mayalsoberelevanttothedesignoftallwallpanelsindwellings.ThedesignmethoddescribedinthissectionofBS5268-6maybeusedinvalidatingtherackingperformanceofwallpanelsover2.7minheightforuseindwellingsincombinationwithdesignsinaccordancewiththerecommendationsofBS5268-6.1.ThissectionofBS5268coversonlythestructuraldesignoftimberframewalls.Thefollowingconstructionalfeaturesmaysignificantlyaffectthebasisofthedesign,andtheyaredrawntotheattentionofthedesigner:a)susceptibilitytoweathering;b)condensationcontrol;c)thermalinsulation;d)fireresistance;e)soundinsulation;f)durability.
