【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesgeneralguidelinesforthepracticeofthermogravimetrycoupledwithinfraredspectrometricdetectionandanalysis(TGA/IR).Thispracticeassumesthatthethermogravimetryinvolvedinthepracticeisproper.Itisnottheintentionofthispracticetoinstructtheuseronproperthermogravimetrictechniques.PleaserefertoTestMethodE1131formoreinformation.1.1Thispracticecoverstechniquesthatareofgeneraluseinthequalitativeanalysisofsamplesbythermogravimetricanalysis(TGA)coupledwithinfrared(IR)spectrometrictechniques.ThecombinationofthesetechniquesisoftenreferredtoasTGA/IR.1.2AsampleheatedinaTGAfurnaceusingapredeterminedtemperatureprofiletypicallyundergoesoneormoreweightlosses.Materialsevolvedduringtheseweightlossesarethenanalyzedusinginfraredspectroscopytodeterminechemicalidentity.Theanalysismayinvolvecollectingdiscreteevolvedgassamplesor,morecommonly,mayinvolvepassingtheevolvedgasthroughaheatedflowcellduringtheTGAexperiment.ThegeneraltechniquesofTGA/IRandothercorrespondingtechniques,suchasTGAcoupledwithmassspectroscopy(TGA/MS),aswellas,TGA,usedinconjunctionwithGC/IR,aredescribedinthereferencedliterature(1-4).1.3Somethermalanalysisinstrumentsaredesignedtoperformboththermogravimetricanalysisanddifferentialscanningcalorimetrysimultaneously.Thistypeofinstrumentissometimescalledasimultaneousthermalanalyzer(STA).TheevolvedgasanalysisperformedwithanSTAinstrument(5)issimilartothatwithaTGA,andso,wouldbecoveredbythispractice.Withuseofasimultaneousthermalanalyzer,thecoupledmethodtypicallyislabeledSTA/IR.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thisstatementdoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thispracticecoversthedeterminationofadegradation-endpoint(abrittlepoint)fordegradablepolyethylene/polypropylenefilmsandsheetinglessthan1.0mm(0.04in.)thick.Thispracticeisnotintendedfordeterminationoftherateofdegreeofdegradationofapolyethylene/polypropylenefilmorsheet,butrather,toassesswheninthecourseofitsdegradationundersomecondition,abrittlepointisreached.Ifonewishestomonitortensileelongationduringthedegradationprocess(suchaswhenthetensileelongationissignificantlygreaterthan5%),TestMethodD882isrecommended.Thispracticeshouldnotbeconsideredtheonlywayofdeterminingadegradation-endpoint.Tensilepropertiesofplastics1.0mm(0.04in.)orgreaterinthicknessshallbedeterminedinaccordancewithTestMethodD638.Useastaticweighing-constantrateofgripseparationtest.Thisprocedureemploysaconstantrateofseparationofthegripsholdingthesampleandastaticloadcell.Note1-Thisprocedureisbasedontheuseofgripseparationasameasureofextension;however,thedesirabilityofusingextensionindicatorsaccurateto?1.0%orbetterasspecifiedinTestMethodD638isrecognized,andaprovisionfortheuseofsuchinstrumentationisincorporatedintheprocedure.Thisprocedurehasbeensuccessfulfordeterminingthedegradationendpointofethylene-carbon-monoxidecopolymersandhasscreenedsuccessfullytwootheradditive-typepolyethylenesinaroundrobintest.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.7ThereisnoequivalentISOstandard.
