【摘要】:Thispracticeisusefulforpreparingextractsfromfiredebrisforlateranalysisbygaschromatography-massspectrometry(GC/MS).Thisisaverysensitiveseparationprocedure,capableofisolatingquantitiessmallerthan1x03BC;Lofignitableliquidresiduefromasample.Thispracticeisparticularlyusefulwhenthepotentialforfractionationduringseparationmustbereduced,aswhenattemptingtodistinguishbetweenvariousgradesoffueloil.Thispracticeisparticularlyusefulfortheextractionofnonporoussurfacessuchasglass,ortheinteriorofburnedcontainers.Itisalsoparticularlywellsuitedtotheextractionofmaterialsfromverysmallsamples.Thispracticecanbehamperedbycoincidentextractionofinterferingcompoundspresentinthefiredebrissamples.Thispracticemaynotbeusefulfortheextractionofsomeextremelyvolatileignitableliquids,whichmayevaporateduringtheconcentrationstep.Thisisadestructivetechnique.Wheneverpossible,thistechniqueshouldonlybeusedwhenarepresentativeportionofthesamplecanbereservedforreanalysis.Thoseportionsofthesamplesubjectedtothisproceduremaynotbesuitableforresampling.Ifdestructionofthesampleisanissue,considerusingpassiveheadspaceconcentrationasdescribedinPracticeE1412.1.1Thispracticecoverstheprocedureforremovingsmallquantitiesofignitableliquidresiduefromsamplesoffiredebrisusingsolventtoextracttheresidue.1.2Thispracticeissuitableforsuccessfullyextractingignitableliquidresiduesovertheentirerangeofconcentrations.1.3Alternateseparationandconcentrationproceduresarelistedinthereferenceddocuments(PracticesE1388,E1412,E1413,andE2154).1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,see5.5.
