【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversrequirementsforelectrodepositedpalladiumcoatingscontainingatleast99.7mass%ofpalladiummetal.Compositecoatingsconsistingofpalladiumwithathingoldoverplateforapplicationsinvolvingelectricalcontactsarealsocovered.1.2Properties8212;Palladiumisthelightestandleastnobleoftheplatinumgroupmetals.Ithasaspecificgravityof12.0,whichissubstantiallylessthangold(19.3)andplatinum(21.5).Thisyieldsagreatervolumeorthicknessofcoatingand,consequently,somesavingofmetalweightaccompaniedbyasmallsacrificeincorrosionresistanceandreflectivity.Thefollowingtablecomparesthehardnessrangeofelectrodepositedpalladiumwithotherelectrodepositednoblemetalsandalloys(1,2).
